Using Fine
Art Candle Molds
Our molds are constructed of thick 80 gauge clear petg plastic. We have found no
warping with our candle molds, so no waterbath is necessary. Each two piece mold comes
with it's precut pour spout, wick slot, and mold stand. Here are a few tips, please print
these and read. Thank you. Yanni and Holly
1. Preparing The Mold Run your wick through the pour
spout through the mold and on to the end where the wick slot is. Run your wick through the
pour spout to the other end where the wick slot is located and tape in place. Put the two
mold halves together and tape the wick slot end with masking tape. Make sure your candle
mold is aligned properly before masking to prevent excessive trimming later. Once you have
your mold aligned, mask or clamp your edges and place in mold stand. We prefer to mask and
clamp, but experiment to choose your desired method.
2. Pouring The Wax Follow all recommended safety guidelines for melting wax. These
instructions are pertaining to the use of the mold. If you have any questions other than
what you find here, please email us for more detailed candlemaking instructions. Wax
temperature should be poured at 180 degrees. Pour the wax slowly and steadily to prevent
air bubbles. Tap the sides of the mold to release the air bubbles. As the wax cools, a
well will appear. Place your hands around the candle and if it feels cool, reheat leftover
wax to 180 degrees and fill the well to create a smooth bottom.
3. Releasing The Candle When candle is completely cool, remove mold from stand and
remove all masking tape. Gently pull the back half of the mold away from the candle in a
straight fashion to prevent denting the candle. Then follow the same procedure with the
front. Trim seams if necessary.
